We’ll invite you to lie down on one of our treatment beds. We may place a gel pad on your skin before placing our two applicators in different treatment areas.
The skin and fat bulges will be pulled upward into the applicators. CoolSculpting uses controlled cooling to target your unwanted fat cells while leaving other tissues unharmed. You may feel slight discomfort from the cold, but this wears off.
While the CoolSculpting applicators destroy your fat cells, you can spend your time reading, resting, working on your laptop, watching TV, or talking on the phone.
CoolSculpting takes about an hour to complete, and you can return to your regular activities immediately. After your CoolSculpting treatment, one of our specialists will massage the treated areas to help your body shed the unwanted fat cells. You can then leave our Baton Rouge office.

Immediately after the CoolSculpting applicators are removed, your provider will perform a manual massage on the treatment area to break up the frozen fat cells and enhance your results. While CoolSculpting can reduce inches, it is not a weight loss procedure. Instead, it targets stubborn fat pockets that diet and exercise have not eliminated. The best candidates are typically those who are near their ideal weight but struggle with localized fat in certain areas.
There is no downtime needed after CoolSculpting treatments, which is one of the reasons it’s such a popular procedure. You’ll be able to work out, go back to work, and continue your regular activities. However, you may be a little swollen for a day or two, and you may be numb for up to one month.
Very few side effects are associated with CoolSculpting, but the treated areas may be red, slightly swollen, blanched, bruised, firm, tender, or itchy. These side effects are typically minor and don’t interfere with normal activities. They should disappear within a few days to a few weeks in most cases.
Most patients notice a difference within three weeks, with fat reduction continuing for up to six months.
