 The goal of Dr. J. Anthony Stephens is to provide each patient with the best experience all around, including the consultation, the surgery and post-operative care.
People of all ages are extremely interested in improving their personal health, appearance and mental wellness. As providing your body and mind with proper nutrition and exercise is a great way to achieve this, another option to gain balance between outer appearance and inner youth is cosmetic surgery.
The term plastic surgery comes from the Greek word "plastikos," which means to mold or to give form. Plastic surgeons are the sculptors of the human form.
Having cosmetic surgery can be a very rewarding procedure in a person's life. At the same time, it can also be rather stressful. Our friendly and professional staff are sensitive to your feelings and desires. We are here to assure your experience is the best it can possibly be. We pride ourselves with the ability to welcome and comfort each and every patient. It is important to us that all our patients understand every aspect of their surgery.
Initial Consultation
In your private consultation, you will meet one on one with Dr. Stephens so you can explain to him what you are looking for and to ask a variety of questions. Dr. Stephens will review your medical history and ask you questions in order to understand your condition, goals and concerns.

Our Facility
Most cosmetic procedures are performed here in our out patient surgical facility. Our office surgical suite is fully accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, Inc (AAAASF). Our surgical suite has two operating rooms and two recovery beds. If your surgery is of other nature, it will most likely be performed at one of the local hospitals, including Baton Rouge General Hospital Bluebonnet Campus, Baton Rouge Ambulatory Surgical Services (BRASS) and Our Lady of the Lake.
Insurance/ Financing
 Most insurance companies do not cover elective cosmetic procedures. Dr. Stephens understands patients' financial needs and has made arrangements with some banks and other lenders such as CareCredit®. CareCredit® can help you get your treatment sooner with No Interest financing, no up-front costs, no pre-payment penalties and no annual fees. Photo Policy
Photographs are an extremely important part of Dr. Stephens practice. Digital photographs serve as educational tools for patients at his office and they allow Dr. Stephens to track a patient's progress through surgical and non surgical treatments & procedures. We do not post patient photographs on-line in the interest of protecting the privacy of Dr. Stephens patients. Many patients have completed photographic consent forms giving us permission to use their photos for education. Therefore upon consultation, patients may view books containing before/after results of procedural photographs in the privacy of their exam rooms.

“My expierence with Doctor Stephens and staff was great. The day of surgery I was very nervous. Dr. Stephens came in and talked to me while he was drawing on me, and gave me a peace of mind. He told me that I will be very happy with my results and he reassured me that everything was gonna be fine.
Dr. Anderson was great. He came in the room talked to my husband and I, and was very pleasant to speak with.
You, Ms. Janine was also wonderful. You answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable. The one thing that sticks in my head was that right before I fell asleep you looked at me and rubbed my head and told me, ‘we will take care of you and everything will be fine.’
That made me feel special. I was so nervous on the day of surgery and all of y'all made me feel wonderful.
The recovery room is kind of a blur. I do remember waking up and as soon as I woke up the nurse asked me if I was in pain. She gave me some meds and I felt so much better. I can't remember her name but she was very nice and considerate.

“I think the surgery went very well and my recovery since has been great - no complications and I was up and moving around with relatively little pain within 48 hours. I was just fine with the anesthesiologist and the information he provided before the surgery. The recovery room experience was a little rocky on my part with getting nauseous shortly after taking my pain medication, but the nurse was very helpful by making me as comfortable as possible and waiting until I felt well enough to release me. Overall a great experience.
